John L. Haag joined CMEA Ventures as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer in 2006. Previously, John was with Burrill & Company, a San Francisco-based life sciences merchant bank and venture capital fund, where he also served as CFO and COO. Prior to Burrill, John was the Chief Financial Officer of early stage enterprises in alternative energy and media. He also served as Vice President of Finance & Administration for Softbank Emerging Markets, a $200 million joint venture between Softbank Corporation and the International Finance Corporation, chartered to invest in early stage information technology companies in various emerging markets. As one of Softbank's investment managers, John's responsibilities included investment in eFinance companies and enterprise applications. His career experience also includes positions in investment banking at JP Morgan & Co. and Bankers Trust Company. John started his career as a Certified Public Accountant at KPMG Peat Marwick after earning a Bachelors degree in accounting from The University of North Texas. John serves on the West Coast Board of Directors of the Private Equity CFO Association and the Board of Directors of CALSTAR, a California-based not-for-profit air ambulance service.


Meryl Schreibstein, Director of Investor Relations & Marketing, joined CMEA Ventures in 1998 and is responsible for investor relations, marketing, public relations, special events/meetings, and fundraising activities. For 12 years prior to joining CMEA Ventures, Meryl worked in management and administrative positions at venture capital funds New Enterprise Associates and New Venture Partners. Ms. Schreibstein graduated Magna Cum Laude from Towson University and holds a B.Sc. in Communications and Public Relations.
